Dr Craig Ironfield is a specialist anaesthetist based in Melbourne
About
Dr Ironfield graduated from medical school at the University of Melbourne in 2007, and went on to complete post-graduate training in anaesthesia at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. After completing fellowship training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital with a focus on trauma and major head and neck surgery, he returned to St Vincent’s as a staff anaesthetist.
Dr Ironfield has a major interest in quality and safety in anaesthesia. He has previously led the anaesthesia department’s quality and safety portfolio, and is currently a representative on the Anaesthetic Subcommittee of the Victorian Perioperative Consultative Council. He is the inaugural Director of Anaesthesia at St Vincent’s Hospital on the Park, and is also a Deputy Director of Anaesthesia at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.
He is committed to ongoing personal continuing medical education, and also to teaching the next generations of doctors and anaesthetists.
